Spa manicures and pedicures will give you fantastic looking nails, and leave you feeling fabulous. Read on to find out why spa manicures and pedicures differ from the standards.
Why Get a Spa Manicure or Pedicure?
Spa manicures and pedicures are more of a treat than the standard manicure or pedicure. You are in a more luxurious, relaxing atmosphere, so it becomes something you look forward to, rather than just popping in at the local salon for a quick fix. The furniture is more comfortable, there are no harsh fumes, and the therapist is there to make you feel at your best.
If you are just booking a manicure or pedicure at the spa, you may not get access to the full range of services, such as the sauna or hydrotherapy baths. However, if your spa manicure or pedicure is part of a range of services, you will have access to the shared facilities. The therapists or technicians carrying out your manicure or pedicure will give you excellent work that lasts, shape your nails perfectly, and suggest the perfect colour for you.
The spa manicure and pedicure also offers more than what you might get at the local beauty salon. There may be aromatic rubs, hydrating masks, paraffin dips, reflexology massages, and so forth. It may only be a manicure or a pedicure, but working on your hands or feet can leave your whole body feeling fabulous.
About Spa Manicures
A spa manicure is the perfect way to gain fabulous nails while truly relaxing. The manicure will include nail shaping, cuticle reduction, hand treatments, therapeutic hand massage, and the application of your chosen nail polish colour. Ingredients used in a spa manicure include cleansers, cuticle removers, cuticle oil, exfoliants, activators, and finishing lotions or moisturisers. Some manicures will make use of paraffin – a product that has excellent heat retaining properties. Coating the hands in paraffin causes an increase in blood circulation which stimulates the opening of the skin pores. As a result of this, perspiration occurs, and this acts like a mini sauna,
allowing moisturisers to be absorbed more effectively.
Manicures will last from 30 to 60 minutes depending on what is included in the treatment.
About Spa Pedicures
Spa pedicures are pampering as well as grooming. Most pedicures will include scrubbing and exfoliating the feet, pushing or clipping the cuticles, massaging the feet, shaping the nails, and also applying your desired nail colour. Depending on the length of the treatment, there may also be foot peels, foot masks, and hot towel steaming. You can choose to combine your pedicure with a reflexology spa treatment. Reflexology is a special form of foot massage that relaxes you while rebalancing and harmonizing your body. Paraffin pedicures are also available.
Pedicures can take anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour.
