We have a passion for fitness and how it can be integrated into everyday life. We understand that not everyone can spend hours in a gym or cannot take time out to treat yourself to a massage, and that day to day life can sometimes mean that a fitness regime can take a back seat.

Massage

Massage is a "hands on" treatment in which a therapist manipulates muscles and other soft tissues of the body to improve health and well being. Varieties of massage range from gentle stroking and kneading of muscles and other soft tissues to deeper manual techniques. While it may simply look like a lot of pressing and kneading on skin, there is actually a significant amount of scientific process involved in massage. The reason you feel different after a massage is because it is healing and invigorating tired, aching or injured muscles.

General benefits of Massage

One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins, the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing. Other benefits of massage may include:

  • Reduces stress and fatigue

  • Eases sore muscles and joints

  • Increases range of motion and flexibility

  • Improves posture

  • Reduces blood pressure

  • Reduces headaches

  • Strengthens the immune system

  • Increases blood circulation

  • Cleans the body of toxins and waste

  • Improves skin and muscle tone

  • Slows the aging process

  • Improves energy

  • Aids recovery from injuries

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage is a treatment that manipulates the soft tissue of the body including movement for a specific therapeutic effect rather than a general therapeutic effect. It uses relevant techniques, lubricants and movements according to the client's needs and response.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a specialist massage technique that focuses on realigning the muscles and connective tissues at a level that goes deeper than the surface skin layers. The strokes used are slower and the pressure applied is deeper than it is the case with massage that is performed for relaxation purposes and the massage is focused on the areas that are experiencing the chronic pain.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a type of massage that is specifically tailored to sporting injuries or ailments. It is not meant to be a relaxing massage and, indeed, can become quite vigorous at times. Sports massage therapy can be used as a means to enhance pre-event preparation and reduce recovery time for maximum performance during training or after an event.

Relaxation Massage

Relaxation Massage is just as you would expect - all bout relaxing. It involves the use of long smooth gliding strokes that are rhythmic, and the therapist should apply pressure that is deeply relaxing, but not painful.

What is Mobile Massage

Mobile massage therapy refers to a practice in which massage therapists travel to their clients instead of having their clients come to them. One of the keys to mobile massage therapy is having all of the necessary equipment in mobile form. This includes massage therapy tables that can be folded up and moved relatively easily. It is also important for a massage therapist who offers mobile services to travel with a kit of all of the products that they need during a massage session including, towels, massage oil and creams, and any other products that are used during a massage session.

Mobile massage is a suitable option for anyone. Whether the client just prefers the comfort of their own surrounds or they may even have an injured family member that requires massage treatment and they are not in a position to comfortably leave the house.
