Yoga is more than an exercise programme: it is a guide for living which embraces physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Yoga therefore encourages us to attend to our well-being on all levels.
Without the distraction of less-than-optimal health, physical and mental energy can be directed in a positive and powerful way, ultimately leading to strength, stability, contentment and equanimity.
Typically included in a general class with Paula is asana practice (postures which stretch and strengthen muscles whilst also toning the nervous system, glands, organs, digestion, circulation); pranayama (breathing practices which strengthen the lungs, calm the mind and balance energy flow); and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation to renew, recover, relax and rejuvenate).
Paula's focus is managing stress, having first come to Yoga whilst working in the deadline-driven publishing industry. Often stress starts in the mind and culminates in the body, and Yoga lovingly provides tools that we can use to bring about positive change.
