Pilates


is not a Yoga tradition but we frequently include Pilates excersises to aid in strengthening the abdominal and lower back regions to compliment our Yoga practice in an attempt to improve overall strength along with flexibility and general fittness.

Pilates classes are now available in Moonee Ponds for those who wish to improve abdominal and lower back strength,releive back pain after injury, improve postural awareness, or just trim up the waist.

Pilates is suitable for beginners and experienced students and class sizes are small to allow individual attention. Pilates can benefit recovery from some types of injury and will build support for the lower back to help prevent future injury.

Classes for beginners and advanced students.
Tuesday evenings at 6-30 pm.


Pilates matwork classes are designed to build core strength and improve muscle control and posture.
This is an excellent practise to assist in recovery from a back or shoulder injury or to help overcome an existing, and perhaps long standing, back, neck, or shoulder problem.
After just a few weeks most people will notice a change in body shape as muscles become more toned and posture improves.

The cost of a casual class is $20 or a ten week pass is $180 and can be used over three months.
Twice a year we also run a six week "introduction to Pilates'' course at a cost of $120.

Students can also opt to attend one of our Thursday evening Yoga classes as well as or in leu of a pre paid Pilates class.

Meditation


Meditation is part of our practice and we regularly run short courses to introduce a variety of methods to achieve the calm and focussed state of mind which is central to all Yoga traditions.
