Children go through lots of stages of growth and their nutrition and health care is important not only to their physical development but also to minimise the stresses that our modern world puts on their growing bodies.
Why would I bring a child to see a naturopath?
The body is remarkable at fighting disease and unbalance. This is called its Vital Force.
Naturopathy uses various methods stimulate the vital force.
In children, the vital force is strong and can be stimulated through gentle herbal medicines, flower essences or good nutrition. These work in harmony with the body rather than supressing symptoms to alleviate the outward signs of disease. Long term, your child will develop a healthy immune system that is more capable of dealing with disease.
What sort of things can a naturopath help with?
- Poor or fussy appetites
- Constipation or diarrhoea
- Low immunity
- Growing pains
- Asthma and other respiratory conditions
- Eczema and psoriasis
- Hormonal imbalances
- Exam anxiety
- Acne
- Sleep issues
- Attention and learning disorders
- Ongoing ear infections and Tonsillitis
Lena has undertaken training with the Mindd foundation which supports families with children in the Autism spectrum. Often, correcting nutrition and including supplementation and herbal medicines can make a difference to your child’s overall health and behavioural issues leading to a less stressful family environment.
At Wise Health and Wellness we know that healthcare is important to families who are also on tight budgets. For this reason Lena has set up a Wednesday afternoon Children’s Clinic at a family friendly rate for children. Lena has brought up three children of her own and appreciates that whilst there is nothing you wouldn’t do when your children are sick we shouldn’t be left with a financial burden to stress about afterwards.
