Dry Needling
Dry needling is highly effective in helping you to manage stiffness, chronic pain, and muscles. Dry needling deals with injuries to soft tissues including muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It is used to de-activate myofascial trigger points which are short, tight, and sensitive bands of muscle that are often painful to the touch. Trigger points commonly cause decreased function and/or movement. When the area is gently needled the trigger point is switched off, and this sends a message to the brain to let go of the tension and pain held in that area. Furthermore, it stimulates the flow of blood to the area which flushes out toxins stored in surrounding areas.
Bowen Therapy
Bowen therapy is a method that allows us to assess and understand your health issues and use this knowledge to release built-up tension within muscles, ligaments, and tendons, helping to body to remove patterns of dysfunction and creating balance in the physical systems. Bowen therapy is highly effective in re-aligning the body and returning it to its natural state of harmony and balance. It will induce a deep sense of calm and relaxation, which often lasts for a number of days, whilst the body is restoring itself to a natural state of wellness.
Cupping
Cupping is an ancient technique that has been around for thousands of years. It involves the heating of a cup usually made out of glass that is then placed on certain areas of the body. The vacuum created within the cup due to the heat and lack of oxygen within sucks the skin and underlying tissue upwards and holds it within the cup. This draws out slow, sluggish or stagnant blood to the surface which allows the body to flush it out and remove it. This is highly effective in treating Frozen shoulder (Adhesive capsulitis), tight/stiff backs & shoulders, Plantar fasciitis (overtight sole of the foot), lack mobility in the hips, back and glutes and much more. It is very important to note that the marks left by cupping are not bruises and generally subside within 3-5 days.
