A Bowen Therapy Treatment

Bowen Therapy consists of a series of precise moves on specific points of the body. The moves are light and are able to be applied through clothing. There are frequent pauses between each series of moves, allowing the body time to benefit.

Bowen Therapy is gentle, relaxing and non-invasive. Results can be remarkable, even after just one treatment; often only a few treatments are needed to correct the presenting problem. Specific conditions may be targeted with Bowen Therapy, or the body can be addressed as a whole.

Unlike many other natural therapies, the Bowen Technique does not use forceful manipulation. The technique addresses the soft tissue or fascia of the body which in turn effects the musculoskeletal framework, nerves and internal organs. The body's integrated response improves circulation and lymphatic drainage and aids in the assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins.

Undergoing a Bowen treatment is a catalyst for a cascade of beneficial changes that continue for several days. Other alternative therapies performed during this time (such as massage and chiropractic) can interrupt and undermine the overall effectiveness of Bowen Therapy. As a result, it is recommended that the client should wait a week before commencing any other manual therapy.
