My name is Wendy Gilchrist and I am a massage therapist with over 30 years experience.

I am qualified in Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage and have knowledge of stress holding patterns in the body, along with techniques to facilitate joint release.

I take a meditative approach, coaxing muscles to relax and the client can achieve an overall feeling of deep relaxation. I am staying present to what I am feeling throughout the massage. I am fully approved with Private Health Funds and can be directly contacted on Mobile:0416 332 854

In my final year of studying pschology in 1978, I discovered meditation which has become an ongoing part of my life. In 1987, I completed a bodywork course emphasizing mindfulness. In 1997, I became an accredited remedial massage therapist.

From feedback I receive, the following benefits are offered with massaging mindfully:
  • the recipient feels I can get the 'right' spots
  • both relaxed and energized by the massage.
  • their own body awareness is increased.
I am available on my usual days i.e.Monday Wednesday and Friday during this holiday period except for public holidays.

I have spent five years studying psychology resulting in a B.A. (with psychology/ sociology majors) and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology (counselling option). In my final year, 1978, I was introduced to meditation which enables mastery of the mind and I embrace as a way of life.

In 1980, I studied massage, and in 1987 studied intensively deep tissue massage techniques and stress holding patterns in the body. Following this I worked part-time as a massage therapist in accordance with mothering.

In 1997 I gained a Diploma in Remedial Massage. I had studied to certificate level in reflexology as well as doing workshops in various associated techniques. I have worked in numerous centres, in mobile massage and for the last 15 years as a Chiropractor’s assistant and massage therapist. Currently I work three days a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday - at Remedial Therapy Solutions (Suite 3, Level 2 Gordon Centre, 802-808 Pacific Highway, Gordon).

I am offering a firm yet relaxing massage with over 25 years of development of the skill.

Massage done meditatively allows the body to release tension when it is ready, in so doing the body’s own innate wisdom is honoured and I stay present to what I am feeling.
