My name is Mellissa Robertson and I am a university trained acupuncturist with 15 years experience.
I have been happily specialising in treating fertility and pregnancy related issues for the last 7 years.

As a mother myself I understand the importance of having a practitioner that you can trust with your care at such a special and emotional time.

I pride myself on being professional yet approachable and understanding in my practice. I am 100% commited to providing you with the best possible care that I can.

The majority of my patients come in for pregnancy related acupuncture.
I work in conjunction with the midwives at Gosford and John Hunter hospitals. They highly recommend acupuncture for many different concerns.

Most of these women present with morning sickness, breech or posterior positioning, for inducing labour or for prebirth treatment that is aimed at preparing the body for the labour process.
The prebirth treatments are proving beneficial in helping to deal with any anxiety about the labour, helping to lessen the chances of going beyond 41 weeks and also in shortening labour times.

However acupuncture can be used to treat most pregnancy related issues including swelling, heart burn, groin and back pain, insomnia, constipation and high blood pressure.

My other interest lies in the area of fertility. I use acupuncture to help with natural fertility and assisted fertility, namely IVF.
Research has validated the effectiveness of having acupuncture in conjunction with IVF treatment, with the most important treatments being on the day of embryo transfer.

While I specialise in these fields I am still an acupuncturist who believes in the value of what I do and I know how effective acupuncture is in treating many ailments. Therefore I do treat people with any problem that acupuncture is deemed to be a successful treatment for.
