About Us
Anna Boyce
Director. GradCertMgt. DipComServMgt. DipCouns.
Anna has always been passionate about health, wellbeing, and helping others find creative pathways to what’s meaningful and valuable for a balanced happy life.
Anna began her work journey with Red Cross in South Australia teaching creative arts, crafts and life skills in what is now known as Diversional Therapy. It was through this experience working with frail aged and disabled clients that Anna stumbled across how powerful the creative process is in connecting people to their wellbeing. This led her to study Drama and Movement therapy in London and the broadening of her experience, travelling, studying and working in Europe, Asia, Africa and India.
Captured by the holistic approach to health, balance and wellbeing, Anna continued on with studies in Natural therapies. She saw value and gained results working with people from a holistic perspective and practised as an Energetic Kinesiology Natural Health practitioner and teacher for 15 years in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, India and the USA.
Moving to Brisbane in 2000, Anna reconnected with Red Cross in Queensland. They needed a Diversional Therapist, so Anna took up the opportunity. She had come full circle and was now able to apply so much more to this area of work. One of her achievements was her design, development and implementation of a very successful creative and holistic, sensory activation program, to improve wellbeing for people with severe disabilities and for hospitalised patients living with Dementia. Program development, coordination and ultimately management, across a variety of community services was Anna’s journey with Red Cross. She was described as a highly effective communicator and conduit, able to translate organisational strategy into practical and simple processes that frontline staff could easily understand and implement.
Whether working with management, staff or clients, Anna’s holistic framework and collaborative approach in always working from the point of where people are at and what they present, building on strengths, increasing awareness, resilience and wellbeing, has been the key to her success. Driven by her calmness, care and compassion, disaster relief work, remote service work and international humanitarian service environments have been where this framework has excelled. She values the continuous process of learning, to develop personally and professionally and considers this an important part of life, enabling her to create, give to others and inspire growth.
Anna has been able to fine tune her skills and knowledge to the emerging need for wellbeing in the workplace. She is passionate about helping people who work in caring professions to be the best they can be, so they can deliver good quality services to clients, Anna started Wellbeing Consultancy Australia in January 2015 to fulfil this need and has consulted as a workforce wellbeing specialist for emergency services, conducted wellbeing workshops for Australian Red Cross, the Australian Government Department of Human Services and other small not for profit organisations. Counselling sessions, professional supervision and wellbeing consults are current services she provides.
Recently Anna has undertaken international work in Nauru as an Associate EAP Consultant Wellbeing Specialist for Global Community Consulting. This involved providing EAP counselling and wellbeing programs for Connect Settlement Services for expatriate, local Nauruan and refugee staff who live and work on the island. This has assisted Anna to deepen her experience, skills and knowledge to support specialist staff who are working in very challenging environments.
Anna is also a passionate ambassador for The Carers Foundation and has been instrumental in assisting with the development of the organisation along with the design and development of wellbeing programs for carers who access the Foundation. Anna has also recently supervised a QUT Masters of Social work student on placement.
Anna lives north of Brisbane with her partner Luc. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Anna enjoys practising and teaching meditation and mindfulness. She loves bushwalking, camping, kayaking, yoga, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
