Where did Bowen originate?
Tom Bowen devised the BOWEN Technique...BOWTECH, in the 1950’s in Geelong, Victoria Australia.
Bowen had the foresight and philosophy to use the body’s own healing process. Though patients were often skeptical of the gentle moves, most would experience, with some incredulity, the re-setting and re-alignment of the body in the days following the first session.
His success and reputation grew until he was treating over 13,000 patients a year.
In 1974 the Australian Federal Government felt the need to investigate Tom Bowen and his work. They found , to their amazement, his success rate was 80-90% after only one or two ‘treatments’.
Tom BOWEN invited Oswald & Elaine Rentsh to study with him & document his work. However it wasn’t until 1986, four years after BOWEN’s death, that they begun teaching the technique.
Dedicated to ensuring that the technique was taught in its original form, they founded The Bowen Academy of Australia in 1987.
Since then more than 17,000 therapists worldwide have taken Bowen training.
PAIN MANAGEMENT IS JUST THE BEGINNING
WATER - WATER - WATER.
The body’s many cries for water is rarely heard. Yet water is the very best thing we can give our body, any time, any where. To deprive our body of water is asking for health problems.
Every cell, every organ, every muscle, our eyes, our brain, our everything, needs a constant supply of water to function properly.
Our body is made up of about 70% water and is highly dependent on the fluid flow, just as it requires nutrients and oxygen.
Water acts as a solvent in the body and the purer it is, free from minerals, softeners and pollutants, the more nutrients its able to carry to the cells.
Animal trainers give their animals the purest water available, so surely we humans deserve the best.
Our mineral consumption should come from the living foods we eat – fruit, vegetables, grains and meats.
However, with the soils now depleted of minerals its wise to supplement with liquid colloidal minerals, ensuring our intake of minerals is adequate also.
A healthy person should consume 25mls of pure fresh water per kg of body-weight daily and at least double that amount in times of stress or illness.
That’s approximately 6 to 8 glasses per day, every day, sipped throughout the day so the body can utilise it more efficiently.
Coffee, tea, milk, fruit juice, fizzy cordial or other liquids just don’t count, as they are processed in the body as FOOD, whereas, what the body really needs is water!!
We can’t substitute other liquids for water in our body either, any more than we would want to fill the car battery with milk, or the steam iron with fruit juice, or wash the walls down with cappuccino.
