This is your Time and Space for Pilates and more, the home of Pilates Matwork in Clifton Hill. During classes you will be carefully guided through not just the key techniques, core engagement and postural strengthening that is the foundation of Pilates, but you will also be offered a range of graduated, finely tuned exercises that will enhance your whole sense of being and see you progress to better overall health, strength, body awareness and confidence. This is a safe, effective, accessible and balanced movement & core strength training that will complement your daily life, rehab/prehab or sports performance.
About Us
Francesca is the founder of Time and Space Studio. She is a passionate, experienced and sensitive teacher with nearly 15 years teaching experience in the Pilates Method, Clinical Pilates and more recently in developing a comprehensive Myofascial Movement programme.
She is qualified with the Australian Pilates Method Association (Dip Pilates Movement Therapy) and has taught Clinical, Mat and Group Reformer in many health centres and clinics across Melbourne, including Melbourne Uni Sports, The Intelligent Body (Malvern), LifeCare Body Logic Pilates (Clifton Hill), Physio Moves (Hawthorn), Energise and Recharge (Elwood), Melbourne Combined Natural Therapies (CBD). Fran’s other qualifications in Massage Therapy and Meditation complement her holistic and Mind Body approach to Conscious Healing.

PILATES
The ‘Pilates Method’ is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed by Joseph Pilates, which over the years has gained mainstream popularity and success in its application in many areas of sports performance, strength, balance, rehab/prehab and mind body approaches to health and wellbeing. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, flexibility and balance, with an ongoing focus on building our balance and strength from the inside out. It is a great way to ‘prehab’ as a form of injury prevention if you are into performance sports.
Matwork with small apparatus (e.g. balls, bands, weights) allows you to experience a comprehensive Pilates workout in an easy and accessible way. With ongoing attendance, you may experience:
- Increased core strength
- Learn and embody a strong foundation of Pilates movement technique, for improved body awarenes and posture
- Reduced back and neck pain
- Injury prevention (‘pre-hab’)
- Increased flexibility
- Increased balance & resilience
Pilates open level Mat Classes currently run on Wednesday evenings at 7pm: this class is accessible for complete beginners and those who are more experienced and need an ongoing refresher. You are guaranteed to way away with those great feelings of lightness & strength, vibrancy and balance.
