What Is Educational Kinesiology?
Educational Kinesiology is an eclectic body of work combining kinesiology, education theory and the study of movement.
Movement is the primary way that infants and young children learn and integrate that learning into expressive action. Children and adults learn by practicing and doing things, by putting knowledge into action, by feeling the process of growth
Paul Dennison
How Does It Work?
Edu-K is a process for re educating the whole mind / body system in accomplishing any skill or function with greater ease and efficiency. Edu-K developed from clinical studies started in 1969 by Paul Dennison, Ph.D., an educational therapist, who recognised a link between stress and body response. Originally developed to correct learning disabilities, Edu-K is used by people who wish to create definite positive changes in their lives.
Dr Paul Dennison and Gail Dennison have been developing Edu-K procedures over a twenty year period and they continue to research and develop the Edu-K process of learning through movement. Edu-K is currently used in over 80 countries.
What Do We Do?
An Educational Kinesiologist is someone who has trained extensively in the Edu-K training program. The first course in the professional training in Educational Kinesiology is Brain Gym 101.
