What is Eating Psychology Coaching?
Eating Psychology Coaching is a unique and cutting edge approach that was developed by the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. It effectively addresses binge eating, weight concerns, body image challenges, overeating and a range of nutrition related health concerns. As an Eating Psychology Coach, I utilise an empowering and positive approach. I look at your eating challenges not as a sign that “there is something wrong with you” – but as a place where we can deeply explore personal aspects of your life that impact food, health and weight. It is not uncommon for our eating challenges to be related to things such as money, work, family, relationships, life stress, intimacy and a lot more. By working on the areas that are most relevant to your unique situation, we have an increased chance of success. As an Eating Psychology Coach, I provide you with guidance and support, offering you with nutrition principles and coaching strategies that are achievable, nourishing, sustainable, and that effective results.
How is my approach different?
For far too long we have been bombarded with negative messages about our weight, food and diet. We have been told that we all have weak willpower or that to achieve success we need more control. The large majority of nutrition experts promote conflicting advice. The result sees individuals being confused about what to eat, and how to have a happy relationship with food and healthy metabolism. In my professional practice, I combine many of the bets strategies from nutrition science and eating psychology. By removing all of the “do’s and don’t’s”, I concentrate on what is right for your body and your own personal style. As we work closely alongside one another, health issues and eating become a place of exploration. Instead of viewing such challenges as the enemy, they will become opportunities for self-improvement and growth. In my training at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, I have learned to assist clients to achieve their optimal potential not by strategies that punish but through strategies that are specifically designed to nourish.
