How does Colour Therapy work?
Colour therapy, uses colour to cultivate energy in the body, it is simply light vibrating at a particular frequency/wavelength. These frequencies contain their own energy. Chakras can be a useful approach to cultivating energy through the use of colour (Andrews 1995). Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel" or "disk," located along the central axis of the body, they represent our seven major energy centres & correlate to the major nerve ganglia branching out from the spine.They also relate to a particular colour, levels of consciousness, bodily functions & emotions. These concepts of colour & chakras date back to the ancient civilisations of Egypt, India & China.
Colour therapy can be used in a variety of ways including light boxes, filters, scarves, reiki & massage or colour consultations.Thus being a non invasive & holistic way of balancing the body, mind & spirit.
