Treatments (getting physiotherapy in Taringa)
Physiotherapists make use of a number of treatment modalities to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The type of treatment is prescribed and carried out by the physiotherapist, taking the patient's goals and prior level of function into account.
By using the modalities mentioned above and others, we seek to relieve pain and prepare the person to participate in therapy. Some of these treatments may not be part of our offering, however we can refer you to someone who can help you.
Come in and see us; we'll be happy to discuss your health and how our range of therapy treatments can help you.
What We Offer
Exercise and stretching programs
Gentle exercise and stretching form an integral part of most rehabilitation programs. Exercise helps to increase energy and range of motion, strengthen the muscles, bring blood to the extremities and improve cardiovascular health. Stretching is essential not only for muscle, but for the soft tissue as well.
Feldenkrais
Feldenkrais is a method of improving the body’s ability to function, learn, and change by increasing awareness of movement, posture, and breathing.Using the Feldenkrais Method one can learn how to lengthen tight structures through functional movement, which can be incorporated into daily life.

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists complete a 4 year degree in which they study human movement and its rehabilitation. It equips them to assess and treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, addressing joints, muscles, and nerves, as well as dysfuncytional movement patterns and habits. Treatment will often include direct mobilisation of painful structures, specific exercises, and education in self care for long term solutions.
The Feldenkrais Method®
The Feldenkrais Method® is a kinaesthetic movement education system that increases a person’s awareness of their body and their movement habits, and then gives their brain other options to facilitate reorganisation of movement patterns to create a change to a more comfortable and efficient way of operating.
The Feldenkrais Method® was developed by Dr Moshe Feldenkrais as a result of a knee injury. He used his knowledge of engineering and his expertise in the martial art of Judo to teach himself to walk effectively again, and in the process developed his system for using the neuroplasticity of the central nervous system to improve function.
