What is a Naturopath?

Naturopaths aim to be preventative medicine specialists, it is a distinct and complete system of health care. It is holistic and personal.

Today naturopaths use scientific evidence as well as traditional evidence in practice. Six foundational principles underpin the practice of naturopathy. The healing power of nature. First do no harm. Find and treat the cause whenever possible. Treat the whole person. Education and Prevention.

In a session there will be a case study taken asking you questions regarding family health and patterns, diet and lifestyle, symptoms you may have.   Iridology is used as a diagnostic tool and treatment plans are discussed.  Further testing may be required.

Naturopaths will work alongside your GP or other health professionals with your optimal health in mind.

Naturopathic care is well suited to anyone at any age. Naturopaths use various modalities in their practice. These may include: Herbal medicine, Nutritional medicine, Dietary and lifestyle advice, Massage therapy, lymphatic work, Reflexology and Bach flowers.

Naturopathic case-taking often uncovers dis-ease long before it has become a diagnosable pathology. Naturopaths treat both acute and chronic conditions.

Iridology is the assessment of the body according to the irides (the coloured area of the eye). To an iridologist, specific areas of the irides correspond to specific organs, tissues, body areas, colours and textures suggesting biochemical changes.

Nerve pathways from all over the body are continually sending information to the brain via the part of the brain known as the thalamus and the hypothalamus. From nerve impulses that are relayed from the thalamus and hypothalamus physiological changes develop in the iris tissue revealing information from all parts of the body that have a nerve supply. These parts of the brain are the basic monitors of all vital activities going on within the body.
