Herbal Remedies for Pregnancy & Women's Health
Focus areas
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), an ancient medical system that has been used since time immemorial to support a variety of health conditions, including infertility, relies heavily on acupuncture and herbal remedies. Sydney Natural Fertility in St Leonards, New South Wales, specialises in these modalities, which aim to restore your body's balance in order to make conception easier.
Our team consists of highly skilled acupuncturists who have additional training in infertility and maternity care. For over 16 years, we have been assisting couples and single mothers in conceiving. To stay ahead of the curve, we complete additional reproductive health training every year.
We maintain positive relationships with our patients' IVF doctors to ensure that they receive the best treatment possible, whether they use our services to become pregnant naturally or in conjunction with Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
Services Offered
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) methods designed for fertility management.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture can be used on a regular basis to reduce stress and support your body during your fertility journey.
By helping to promote a healthy body function, acupuncture is a wonderful way to increase your chances of getting pregnant naturally. It is equally important for both the male and female partner, as you are equally integral to the reproductive process.
During assisted conception, acupuncture can be an effective, low-intensity treatment that can increase a woman’s resilience. It can improve physical and mental health, including sleep, mood and self-confidence, which are all important components of a healthy pregnancy.
Herbal Medicine
This branch of TCM is used to correct imbalances in your body that are causing illness or disease.
FAQs About Acupuncture & Other TCM Treatments
What does acupuncture feel like? Does it hurt?
Acupuncture treatments, when administered by a registered acupuncturist, are almost painless. The needle itself causes little discomfort. Some spots may sting for a brief period of time. Warmth, tingling, or a dull ache are all natural reactions to acupuncture because the Qi (energy) in the point is being activated.
You can still become a patient and only take herbal medicine and supplements if you don't want to get acupuncture.
Is my acupuncture doctor completely qualified?
Yes, all of our acupuncturists have a four-year bachelor's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and are members of both the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. They also hold other healthcare-related degrees.
How long does it take to conceive?
While we can never predict the future, sticking to your treatment plan will increase your chances of conception. Your treatment can be tailored to work with natural conception or with assisted reproductive technology (ART). Keep in mind that your fertility journey is unique, and so is your treatment plan.
