Soul Shakha was born on the banks of the River Ganges in Rishikesh, where my vision to become a teacher was brought to life. The name Soul Shakha (Shakha meaning home) refers to both the body in which we move through life and the journey coming home to our essence, our Soul, through the experience of unifying practices such as Vedic Meditation, Kriya Yoga and more recently Craniosacral Therapy and the Direction Technique.
I aim to empower my students and community to find inner stability and live a more fulfilled life. Teaching with compassion, joy and wisdom, I provide a space for students to be curious about exploring their inner and outer worlds, weaving ancient Vedic knowledge with light-hearted and relatable experiences.
I learnt Vedic Meditation in 2017 to help me through a challenging period in my life. After over 15 years in the mining industry in Western Australia, I was burnt out from the fly-in, fly-out mining life. After experiencing a significant relationship breakdown and my father's passing, I wasn’t well in many aspects of my life.
After a chance recommendation from a friend, on a whim, I attended a four-day beginner’s course in Vedic Meditation. For the first time in years, I had more purpose and mental clarity, and my thoughts were less judgy self-deprecating, and I felt more able to cope with life’s demands, process my grief and deal with the daily stresses of FIFO life.
I have had such profound changes in my life through these amazing modalities. It is from these changes that my desire to teach was born; and since 2020, I have been sharing Vedic wisdom and teaching these glorious techniques in Perth, Busselton, Margaret River and Nannup.
