Reiki and Palliative Care

Reiki service for loved ones in palliative care is the most rewarding experience to assist someone to feel peaceful and comfortable before they leave this world and enter the next.

I had never before conducted Reiki on terminally ill patients until my brother had only days to live in early March 2016.
On his final days in hospital, I felt an overwhelming urgency to conduct Reiki on him. Seeing him in extreme pain, tears rolling down his face, unable to speak due to several strokes he had, I knew I had come at the right time.

As I do before all my sessions, I created a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere for him, playing spiritual relaxing music and cleansed the room with mist spray. I asked for trust in Reiki to help me. I placed my hands on his chest and commenced with Reiki, my brother took a large in breath of air and I felt him relax and trust the energy of Reiki.

My brother required no drugs to take away his pain afterwards and he was sound asleep when I left the hospital.
He gave me the greatest gift of all, as I had not realised previously how powerful Reiki is to help with energy for dying. A couple of days later, my brother passed away.

I have done another Reiki session for a friend's father while the son stayed in the room. The son didn't understand Reiki and how it could impact on his very own release of letting go of his father. After finishing conducting Reiki on his father, the son had tears rolling down his face and thanked me profusely. He hadn't been able to grieve up until that moment.
