Services

Swedish Relaxation Massage

Swedish Massage is a system of long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration and shaking motions that apply pressure between muscles and bones, rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart.

The main purpose of Swedish Massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Some other benefits include shortening recovery time from muscular strain, increased circulation without increased heart load, stretching of ligaments and tendons, skin stimulation and soothing of the nervous system. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested as part of a regular program for stress management.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning the deeper layers of muscles. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, lower back pain, leg muscle tightness and sore shoulders.

Some of the strokes used are similar to Swedish Relaxation, but the movements are slower with deeper pressure applied to concentrated areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. Remedial massage holistically treats the whole body and traces the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms.

Thai Massage

Thai massage looks like a cross between acupressure, yoga, and Zen shiatsu. The actual massage consists of a technique that uses slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches along the body's energy lines, also called Sen in Thai.

Over 70,000 Sen are said to exist within the body, and Thai massage concentrates on applying pressure along 10 of the most important Sen using the palms of the hands, thumbs, elbows and feet. Therapists also position the body in yoga-like poses and gently rock the body to more deeply open joints and facilitate limbering.

Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi massage is one of the oldest and most profound forms of massage. The word Lomi Lomi simply means 'massage therapist' or 'Hawaiian massage'. It is a unique healing massage derived from the ancient Polynesians and more specifically the master healers of Hawaii.

The massage techniques are given in fluid, rhythmic motions using full hands, forearms as well as the palms. Some people have described this technique as feeling like gentle waves moving over the body. Another feature is that different parts of the body may be massaged at the same time, for example, therapists will work upon your shoulder and lower back or upper leg. This assists the recipient in deep relaxation as it is extremely difficult for the brain to focus on the two different areas at once. Gentle stretches of the body and gentle rotations of the joints are also incorporated to assist the release of tension and flow of energy, once again not forcing, but feeling the level of the client's resistance or comfort.

Combination Massage

Combination massage is a massage integrating more than one style. It can combine techniques from Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Reflexology, Trigger point therapy and Hot Stone. These combinations are used to tailor the massage towards your personal preferences and specific needs.
