At RecoverWiSE we will help you to make wise choices every day using every minute and every appointment to take the journey to recovery and get you back to normal ASAP.
Based in McDowall on the Northside of Brisbane, our light filled physiotherapy practice is easily accessible with lots of parking, private treatment rooms and a dedicated fully equipped Pilates studio running a varied timetable of group classes and individual instruction.
Our team of physiotherapists will provide you with a 60 minute assessment to ensure there is enough time to set up a good plan for recovery and to make sure you understand the injury and the part you can play in getting things back to normal. Learn about your injury with our 3D graphics and receive a plan for recovery that leaves no stone unturned.
Physio
Do they know what they are looking for?
All qualified physio’s have the expertise to help you recover. What makes a difference is having a structured process to guide you and your physio through your recovery so everyone knows what has happened, what will happen next and what the other options are.
At RecoverWiSE, we use ASAP to guide you step by step through the goals of recovery. You and your physio know your plan, know the goal for each stage and know you are doing everything that will help you.
When you are not with us we make sure you are using your 10,000 minutes a week wisely. Healing is as much about letting the body repair as it is about adding interventions. With our one on one 60 minute assessment you will have time to ask the questions that keep you awake at night.
Pilates
Take Control
When Joseph Pilates pioneered his movement training early last century he called it Contrology. He was aiming for a way to train the body to work efficiently, where joint control laid the foundation for better dynamic movement. Although used extensively in the dance industry Pilates, as it became known, has always played a role in rehabilitation. In his own studio Joseph Pilates had areas for elite dancers and separate areas for injury recovery.
Today Pilates is often spoken about in the same breath as yoga. Although to the untrained eye many of the positions may look similar the intent and results are poles apart. Principles of concentration, core control, and stamina are in common with more mainstream training methods and the results people achieve from Pilates do show the building of strength and endurance alongside flexibility and coordination.
