Rebecca Studied for 3 years full time at RMIT University to achieve her advanced diploma of Applied Science (myotherapy). Rebecca holds certificates in Bowen Therapy and is a registered member with the Myotherapy Association Australia. Rebecca has been a practising therapist for over 15 years and her experiences include working with the Australian Ballet Company, treating Australian elite athletes eg: cyclists, commonwealth games athletes, surfers, ironmen and life savers, gridiron players and playing an integral role within a football club’s medical team responsible for diagnosis and treatment of all injuries for 8 years.
What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy treats muscle and soft tissue injuries that cause pain and/or affect movement. Myotherapy treatments help to relieve muscular tension, spasm and cramps caused by stress, exercise, trauma, overuse or the effects of surgery.
The aims and techniques of Myotherapy are as follows:
- promoting healing in soft tissue by increasing blood flow
- deactivating trigger points that cause local and referred pain
- increasing joint flexibility and range of movement
- deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy
- myofascial dry needing (muscular acupuncture)
- cupping
- soft tissue stretching

I have personal experience with medical conditions that have caused me extreme pain and limitations in my daily life.
