Private Yoga
Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is suitable for everybody regardless of age, fitness, state of health or belief system. In yoga therapy a personal practice is prescribed according to the physical, emotional and physiological needs. A personal practice may be implemented simply to maintain health and fitness, or to help remedy asthma, high/low blood pressure, poor digestion, hormonal issues, an emotional disorder, a chronic physical or psychological condition or perhaps manage disability.
What sets Yoga therapy apart from almost all other health modalities is that it operates on all levels, influencing all aspects of the individual, and enhancing the ability to cope with the stresses and challenges of life. Further, yoga recognises that everyone is different and that no single approach or practice fits all.
During a private consultation the therapist use the principles of Ayurveda, yoga and will assess the individual in order to design an appropriate practice for that person. A practice might include some or all of the tools of yoga including movement, breath, diet, chanting, visualisation and meditation. In time, that practice will change with the circumstances and progress of the individual.
