John founded Lilydale and Yarra Valley Acupuncture in 2000 and made it into a successful multi-discipline clinic. In August 2006, he sold his practice and went to the Douglas Shire in search of a better life for himself and his family.

In modern culture, he believes that Traditional Chinese Medicine has a lot of value. He considers it both an art and a science. According to him, “Art is an aspect of medicine that seems to have all but disappeared from today’s orthodox Western medicine. The art of TCM is in its assessment of the patient as a whole person which gives us a better understanding of how to treat their particular condition and how to minimise the likelihood of future recurrence.”

John specialises in facial rejuvenation therapy and is dedicated to the practice of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Acupuncture

The focus of acupuncture is both on the prevention of illness and its treatment, as it utilises a holistic approach to understanding the normal functions of the body and disease processes.

With its emergence in Australia in the 1970s, acupuncture has become more and more acceptable to Western medicine, resulting in many Western medical practitioners now including it in their treatment repertoire.

Facial Rejuvenation

Also known as Chinese Medical Cosmetology in Traditional Chinese Medicine, cosmetic acupuncture is a popular, non-surgical method to enhance beauty, radiance, and vitality on the face, facial rejuvenation acupuncture has also been shown to improve health, well-being, and longevity.

Today, the procedure is commonly known as Facial Rejuvenation, but is also called Cosmetic Acupuncture, Acupuncture Facelift and Non-Surgical Facelift.

A typical course of treatment comprises twelve treatments administered once or twice a week. Depending on the patient’s health and ability to tolerate the treatments, they may give treatments up to three times per week, with a day between each session. 

These treatments last up to five years. Regular follow-up treatments, however, can extend their effects, while patients often use one-off treatments to achieve that healthy glow before special occasions.
