If you have an acute or chronic condition such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, frozen shoulder, migaines, sciatica etc and have tried many treatments or medications without success, there is a new and unique treatment available for pain relief and recovery called Medkey Therapy.

The Medkey is a biofeedback controlled, non-invasive neurostimulator for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, and the improvement and restoration of body function in optimal time.

Since its development in the early 1980’s, the latest version of the device is characterised by a significant increase in treatment efficiency, and more importantly, positive patient outcomes.

The difference between Medkey and some other therapies which may require you to have indefinite, on-going treatment, is that Medkey takes the body through the healing cycle to completion.

Most chronic pain conditions require 5 to 7 sessions in total and pain relief is usually felt within 2 sessions.

Scope of Use

• Recent injury or trauma to the body of any kind.

• Injuries of soft tissue, joints, ligaments, muscles and the spinal column etc.

• Chronic pain and loss of function.

• Patients who have not responded to other acute or chronic pain protocols.

• Neuropathy that is not relieved by injections or medications.

How does Medkey work?

Non-invasive Neurostimulation

The Medkey uses high amplitude, high density, biofeedback controlled pulse stimulation to nerves under the surface of the skin, activating the body’s natural pain relieving and self regulatory mechanisms.

This process not only provides direct therapeutic effect via pain relief, but also activates the natural defences of the body.

Pain relief therapy using Medkey is an effective, non-invasive medical technology, which promotes the body’s inherent self-healing mechanisms.

My focus is on getting you out of pain and functioning normally again as quickly as possible.

On your first visit the consultation will involve identifying the issues regarding your pain and planning your treatment.

I will apply the Medkey device onto your skin, typically at the site of pain (though this is not always the case). It will not be painful.

The Medkey is used to identify and target ‘keypoints’ for optimal pain relief.

The Key Therapy session can last for approximately 30 to 45 minutes for most people. Even after 10 minutes of Key Therapy, there may be a reduction of pain.

Typically your pain will reduce immediately after the treatment although there may be some residual pain. As pain relief is achieved through the release of the body’s own endorphins and other regulatory mechanisms, the full effect from your treatment can be expected within the following couple of hours or even days in some cases.

You will be asked to keep note of any changes you experience after your initial treatment; good or bad. These changes are important and help to guide me through the treatment process.

You may feel thirsty, so drink plenty of water following your treatment.

What do I need to bring?

Reports etc that relate to your visit.

We ask you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your first scheduled appointment time in order to fill out you patient intake form.

Please note I generally run on time with appointments.

Cancellations

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please give us the courtesy of at least 24 hours notice so that another patient may have the opportunity to be seen. Arriving for your appointment a few minutes early will help ensure that you and others are seen in a timely fashion. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Exceptions are made for emergencies.

We are committed to spending enough time with you to listen to your history and perform a thorough examination. We schedule first time visits for 45-60 minutes and follow up visits for up to 45 minutes. .

Cost of treatment

As a private clinic, my services do not offer Medicare or Health Fund rebates.

We accept cash and EFT.

45 minutes (Standard) - $90

60 minutes (Initial Consult) - $120
