Welcome to Performance Pilates & Physiotherapy
Audrey received her B Sc (Physiotherapy) degree from Curtin University in 1992. Previously an Australian international Rhythmic Gymnast, she commenced her study in the Pilates Method of exercise while working as a physiotherapist in Los Angeles, USA. She has been incorporating Pilates in her physiotherapy treatments since 1998.
Areas of Practice
Audrey specializes in posture and movement analysis and has an interest in neuromuscular re-education and rehabilitation. By teaching her clients to understand the effect of gravity and load on posture and core stability, they are able to improve their efficiency of movement and functional ability. This approach has proven to be beneficial for elite athletes, office workers, clients with a sedentary lifestyle, manual handlers, clients with chronic injury, pain or disease, for women's health and the ageing population.
Audrey is the physiotherapist for the Australian Rhythmic Gymnastics team and her clientele includes professional A-League Soccer players, Triathletes, National Team Cyclists, Runners, Swimmers, Golfers, Footballers, Tennis players, Cricketers and Musicians.
Performance Pilates Studio at Centro Health - Innovative Physiotherapy & Pilates Rehabilitation
Audrey has developed a comprehensive Pilates Rehabilitation Program using a motor-learning approach to correct inefficient or faulty movement habits that contribute to neck and back pain, poor posture, inflexibility and weakness.
Our innovative program targets the pelvic floor and deep stabilising muscles of the trunk and incorporates efficient breathing techniques. This ensures that the spine is adequately supported while promoting safe, economical movement of the entire body and relieving pain.
We use specially designed, spring loaded Pilates equipment to progress exercises to challenge muscular control, strength and dynamic stability, fully integrating movement of the spine with the limbs to achieve optimal performance.
Our program of specific movements and low impact exercises is the answer to maintaining results long term.
