About Penny
Penny Christie is a Clinical Psychologist, practising in Glebe, NSW. She has over 14 years experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders. She sees both adolescents and adults and does both individual and couples therapy.
She offers both day-time and evening appointments, available Monday to Friday.
Penny has a Master of Counselling Psychology degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours). She has also completed specialist training in Clinical Psychology.
Penny has been in private practice for the last 14 years and prior to that has experience working in a private hospital in their mental health unit.
Penny is actively engaged in professional development, attending seminars, seeking supervision and reading the latest books and journal articles in the field.
Penny’s areas of interest include working with people to resolve or accommodate long histories of trauma, be it physical or emotional. She is also interested in the impact of narcissism on relationships, both in the parent-child dynamic and in the context of intimate adult relationships.
Penny has a keen interest in women’s mental health and has done much work in the area of fertility, sexuality, and general issues women face across the Lifespan, such as the menopause and empty nest.

Penny employs a range of therapies in her work, some of which include; Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Family Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
Fees & Rebates
Penny has a standard fee of $190 per session, with a $124.50 rebate, available through Medicare. This rebate is available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, when the individual has a Mental Health Care Plan, created by their GP. This rebate can be given at the time of the session, provided the individual brings their Medicare card.
Penny’s services are also eligible for rebates through most major health funds. The level of rebate will differ according to the fund.
Some concessions are available upon request.
Fees can be paid by cash or eftpos.
