Pilates
Pilates is a physical training method devised by Joseph Hubertus Pilates in the early 1900's. His original method has developed over the years to become the modern Pilates that we know today.
Pilates is a form of exercise that works your whole body and is suitable for all individuals of all ages. It's success can be attributed to it's 6 principles of application:
- Concentration
By being present with mind-body connection, we allow ourselves time to concentrate connect with the relationship we establish with our body. The movements call for mindful concentration and percision of your bodies responses to the movement objectives. - Centering
By paying attention to the muscles of the core (the Pilates Powerhouse), you will help all of your bodies' motor function and develop more efficiently. - Control
In Pilates, slow and steady wins the race. Control, rather than intensity or repetition, is key to performing the exercises correctly. All movements should be performed with precision, to gain the maximum benefits. - Breathing
Controlling your breath with deep exhalations as you perform each exercise helps activate your muscles and keep you focused. - Precision
Practice makes perfect. Proper form is essential to ensure you gain the most benefit and keep your body healthy. - Flow
Each Pilates motion should be smooth and graceful. Intention of movement and choreography in your practice.

Gait Analysis and Correction "Gait Therapy"
Gait analysis can reveal a 3Dimension perspective of injury or pain. The way we carry ourselves in patterns of gait can determine why we have pain and indeed why we might stay in pain.
The Anatomy in Motion method is an intelligent model of unraveling habituated movement via the consideration of joint motion and muscle potential. Founder Gary Ward teaches "to help to bring the body into alignment and create an environment in which the healing can begin". The process includes thorough biomechanical and anatomical assessment and unique exercise treatment. Handing control back to the client to reconnect with the body in motion and learn to walk as nature intended.
This method facilitates valuable changes in posture both static and dynamic and efficiency in gait.
