Carpal tunnel syndrome Respiratory problem Sciatica Complementary Fitness Frozen shoulder

Optimal Healing Modalities offers two therapies that apply the same principle - helping the body to regain balance (homeostasis) by stimulating the bodys own innate ability to heal itself.

All therapies are:

  • Drug free
  • Non-invasive
  • Suitable for all age groups and fitness levels
  • Complementary so you can choose different therapies as you work through different stages of pain, injury management and healing

Therapies offered are:

1. Bowen Therapy
This is a gentle hands-on therapy suitable for all ages and fitness levels. A Bowen session involves only light moves applied to very specific points on the body with significant pauses or rests between each series of moves. Each session lasts for about an hour with best results achieved with 2-3 sessions.

The gentle moves can have a powerful effect on posture and structural problems (eg bad back, frozen shoulder) and general well being as well help you to improve many health conditions. Some conditions that can be addressed with the Bowen Technique include back pain and sciatica, digestive and bowel problems including IBS, migraines, knee, ankle and foot problems, groin pain, RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow, respiratory problems, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, colic and childhood disorders.

2. SCENAR Therapy
SCENAR is an acronym for Self Controlled Energo-Neuro-Adaptive Regulator. It is a hand held, therapeutic medical device used to alleviate pain and assist in restoring function. SCENAR therapy uses electro stimulation applied via the skin. It operates on the principle of active biofeedback sending and receiving messages to bring about change to assist in healing. Each session lasts from 45 minutes to one hour for most people. Acute injuries usually require about 30 minutes.

SCENAR therapy may assist in recovery from injury with testimonials available from a wide range of sports people.
