Meditation Background
The practice of meditation has been around for thousands of years. It has been used informally when people sit quietly and peacefully and formally when people practice a particular style of meditation and engage in the process applicable to that style.
There are many different styles of meditation to choose from which include meditating in silence, with music, with candles, chanting, creative visualisation, guided, breath-work, walking and movement and the list goes on. You may choose to practice meditation individually, one on one with a facilitator, or in a group.
The most important point to remember if you are thinking about meditating or currently practicing meditation is to find the style and facilitator that feels the most comfortable for you at this moment, and that over time your needs may change and your style of meditating with it. Relaxing Meditation
During a relaxation meditation class you will be guided to move your awareness through your body. This involves deep breathing, relaxing the muscle groups, putting aside your thoughts and feelings and letting go into a journey of deep relaxation and personal insight.
