What Is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a complementary medical practice that entails stimulating certain points on the body, most often with a needle penetrating the skin, to alleviate pain or to treat various diseases. Acupuncture is a safe and effective healing art backed by more than two thousand years of practice and research.
Acupuncture affects the body’s ‘energy’ flow, hence restoring balance and harmony in the channels. Five phase treatments are a root (initial) treatment intending to treat the patient’s central imbalance. The diagnosis is made primarily from presenting complaint, as well as signs in the patients pulse and abdomen as well as reactivity in secondary points.
Why undergo Acupuncture?
Acupuncture has been proven to be effective in pain management, increase circulation and affect hormonal secretions. Therefore many seek acupuncture for any physical injuries causing pains and aches, tendonitis, psychological issues, stress, digestive disorders, infertility and many more.
About Chae Lim
Chae Lim studied Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine at UTS and is a fully licensed and skilled acupuncturist. There are numerous acupuncture techniques and theories, however Chae follows two different, yet complementary schools of thought and combines them if necessary to cover various manifestations of modern physical complaints; they are the mild and gentle Wu Xing (Five Phase) acupuncture. This technique is aimed to affect the deeper and subtle energy flow to treat the body’s constitutional disharmony, manifesting in many cases as chronic illnesses. The other technique is a more physical and immediate style based on the Taiwanese Doctor Tung’s acupuncture point system. It is used extensively for, but not limited to various musculoskeletal disorders.
Chae provides quality acupuncture that is tailored to each individual patient with professionalism and integrity. Chae likes to be able to educate people about this ancient healing art and how it can be best utilised to achieve a therapeutic outcome for the individual.
