Hi, my name is Greg Thompson. I am a qualified and insured Clinical Hypnotherapist, registered with the Australian Hypnotherapists Association (AHA).
I am passionate about making a real difference in the world, and believe that through the power of the mind, almost anything is possible.
My journey in hypnosis started when I was a boy, reading my grand-parents books on the power of the mind and self-hypnosis. I spent hours, flicking through pages, simply fascinated.
As an adult I continued my education in communication, NLP, self development, performance coaching, and completed my formal training in 2015.
Since then I have helped hundreds people to give up smoking, lose weight, relieve stress, reduce anxiety, improve parent/child relationships, and many other things. I feel privileged to be able to use the skills I have acquired to help people, often in profound ways.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of selective, focused attention, and, even though it is 100% natural and normal, it remains one of the most fascinating phenomena of the human mind. Our ability to enter this unique state of consciousness opens the door to countless possibilities for healing, self-exploration and change. Hypnosis, called by different names in different cultures and times, has been recognised for thousands of years and used for many purposes.
Hypnosis has been used in the treatment of pain, depression, anxiety, stress, habit disorders, and many other psychological and medical problems. However, it may not be useful for all psychological problems or for all patients or clients.
In addition to its use in clinical settings, hypnosis is used in research with the goal of learning more about the nature of hypnosis itself, as well as its impact on sensation, perception, learning, memory, and physiology. Researchers also study the value of hypnosis in the treatment of physical and psychological problems.
