STRESS FRACTURES

A Stress Fracture is literally a hairline crack in a bone anywhere in the body. They commonly develop from overuse high impact sports such as football, long distance running, cricket and basketball. Most stress fractures develop in weight bearing bones of the spine, lower limbs and the feet.

It is not a complete fractures per say but may develop into a complete fracture if it is not cared for and treated properly. I can treat stress fractures anywhere in the body by utilising;

  • State of the art equipment to enhance fracture healing.
  • Herbal topical mixtures to promote blood flow, pain relief and bone healing.
  • Nutritional supplements crucial to bone healing.
  • Nutritional advice.

Being able to walk pain free is a basic human right and I can help make this happen for you because of my holistic approach to stress fractures. Enjoy life again ........... make an appointment to see me today!

CALCANEAL SPURS - HEEL PAIN

Do you wake up in the morning only to find that you have to literally hobble out of bed because of intense heel pain?

Does the heel pain subside after a while once you start walking around in shoes but still makes its presence felt for the rest of the day? It sounds like you could have a Calcaneal Spur which is also known as a Heel Spur. The pain can be intense to the point that it literally stops you walking and doing the things you love to do.

The root cause of Heel spurs is basically too much pronation or “rolling in” during the walking cycle and this needs to be controlled by custom made orthotics in order to render you pain free.

PLANTAR FASCIITIS

Do you have painful arches? Does the pain feel like your arches are being stretched to the limit and is it getting worse?

Do you feel like your life has been put on hold because you can no longer do the simple and carefree things you used to do like going for a jog before or after work or simply going for a walk?

The cause of Plantar Fasciitis is often uncontrolled abnormal pronation or “rolling in” during the walking cycle. Some degree of pronation is necessary shortly after heel strike in order to unlock the bones of the foot so they can act as a mobile ground adaptor. The trouble is that when the foot leaves the ground it should be a rigid lever and if there is too much pronation then the plantar fascia starts to track sideways hence the tight painful stretch feeling which is really inflammation of the plantar fascia.

Treatment is by custom made orthoses or foot appliances necessary to control the abnormal pronation or rolling in during the walking cycle.
