About

Most healthcare providers use techniques of massage, trigger point, electrical modalities and ultrasound with varying degrees of specificity to treat soft tissue problems. These all provide reasonable results but there is a much better way. To learn ART you must be serious enough to invest a great deal of time and effort to learn over 500 treatment moves or "protocols."

Peter Valabek has dedicated years of his life learning to understand and evaluate the movement of each tissue in order to correct pain or strain in muscles, tendons or ligaments. Throughout his career, Peter has gained the experience which is required, and the immense amount of knowledge and ability to perform ART.

What is ART

ART has been developed, refined, and patented by P. Michael Leahy, DC, CCSP. Dr. Leahy noticed that his patients' symptoms seemed to be related to changes in their soft tissue that could be felt by hand. By observing how muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves responded to different types of work, Dr. Leahy was able to consistently resolve over 90% of his patients' problems. He now teaches and certifies health care providers all over the world to use ART.

Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. Peter (the ART provider) uses his hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. These treatment protocols - over 500 specific moves - are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART is customised for every patient.

The benefit of ART is that it resolves muscle injury faster than traditional solutions. By specifically targeting the underlying cause of the pain/injury, success can be achieved in far fewer sessions than alternative therapies.
