My name is Melanie, and I am an Accredited Practicing Paediatric Dietitian, specialising in children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am passionate about the management of fussy eating, within the context of ASD and I am trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding Program.
I understand the unique feeding difficulties children experience, and I strive to help parents to understand why eating is challenging for their child. I am committed to expanding children’s dietary intake, while meeting their nutrient requirements.
I strongly believe in coaching and upskilling parents, so that parents feel empowered to implement strategies within the home environment.
I also specialise in the following areas: Faltering growth/poor weight gain, premature infants, the introduction of solids, nutrient deficiencies, overweight/obesity, irritable bowel syndrome, food allergies and intolerance's, coeliac disease, fussy eating, as well as families trying to conceive.
