Membership Eligibility 

As a member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia, you'll gain access to a range of educational and networking opportunities, as well as ongoing support and education.

For the Association to uphold quality and excellence in the field of massage and myotherapy, members must meet MMA criteria and possess specific qualifications. 

Applicants must have completed a course of study in massage therapy recognised by the National Board of Directors and be over 18 years old. 

Former members of AAMT or Massage & Myotherapy Australia who wish to rejoin may contact the Massage & Myotherapy Australia office at 03 9602 7300 to discuss re-joining.

If you are joining from another association, you must give a list of all your current provider numbers and show proof of continuous membership to ensure some of your current provider numbers will remain the same.

It is important to note that there is no “Transfer” option available between Associations, you are required to join as a new member.

Accepted Qualifications 

Massage & Myotherapy Australia currently accepts applicants who hold one of the following qualifications or are currently enrolled in:

• HLT40307 or HLT40302 or HLT40312 or HLT42015 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice
• HLT50302 or HLT50307 or HLT52015 Diploma in Remedial Massage
• 21920VIC or 21511VIC or 22248VIC or 22316VIC Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy
• 10052NAT Advanced Diploma of Health Science - Soft Tissue Therapy
• 30836QLD Cert IV Musculoskeletal Therapy
• 30837QLD Diploma in Musculoskeletal Therapy
• 30844QLD Advanced Diploma in Musculoskeletal Therapy
• Bachelor of Health Science - Musculoskeletal Therapy
• Bachelor of Health Science - Clinical Myotherapy

Overseas Qualifications

Massage & Myotherapy Australia doesn’t accept qualifications obtained overseas. 

The qualifications must be mapped or assessed by a Recognised Training Organisation (RTO) that offers the courses recognised by Massage & Myotherapy Australia.
