GENERAL INFORMATION

Lyndal Thomas teaches general classes and one on one yoga. Lyndal and her husband Brett both have a passion for natural therapies. They share their lives with their beloved Scottish Terrier HoneyBea.

Lyndal's Yoga Teacher qualification was achieved in 1999 and she taught on Brisbane's northside from 2000 - 2024. She has recently moved to Scarborough, Queensland.  Classes are 60 minutes long and include warm-ups and meditation.

The meditation will help you to become more present and enhance your awareness of when you hold tension and allow you to release it. Yoga and Meditation are ideal complements, enabling you tune in to your body and gradually bringing about a reduction in tension offering you a calmer mind, more energy and less aches and pains.

Lyndal encourages questions about postures as she checks you, this allows you enhanced body awareness and reduced potential for back and neck issues, anxiety, stress and depression. Greater self-knowledge is the path to peace and joy in life.

Lyndal continues her yoga studies and attends yoga weekends and seminars regularly. She has studied Ayurveda, the ancient Indian healing modality and has also studied Bowen Therapy. She holds a Second Level Remedial Yoga Certificate with Yoga for Health Australia and is experienced at working one-on-one with people in any level of pain or dis-ease, from back or neck pain, anxiety and high stress levels, through to serious physical/emotional illnesses.

Lyndal regularly checks student postures and suggests improvements during classes. You will be discouraged from any straining or painful movements. General classes are appropriate for beginners and other more advanced students, who will be able to choose to hold postures for longer, make appropriate adaptations or go deeper into the postures.

Lyndal's Zoom students come from her previous local area and her new students come from Redcliffe, Scarborough, Margate, Woody Point, Clontarf, Brighton and North Lakes.

TESTIMONIALS

Here's what a few of them have to say about their Yoga experience with Lyndal:

“I started yoga with Lyndal after being diagnosed with a serious chronic disease that meant I couldn’t do much of anything. I was 57, overweight and really unfit. As much as I wanted to try yoga, the prospect of a class filled with competitive 20 somethings, all wearing size 10 leotards, really filled me with dread!

I needn’t have been concerned. In Lyndal’s class we are constantly reminded we don’t have to compete. After 18 months of attending weekly classes when I can, I’ve learnt to just stay in the moment, listen to my body and adapt to its needs. I’m still overweight and unfit but I’m stronger, my posture has improved, bending tasks are much easier and my body is more relaxed. And I’ve made some lovely friends.

Lyndal is all I could want from a teacher. She’s highly skilled, she’s a great instructor and she’s always patient, encouraging and supportive. I enjoy her classes enormously. I’m sure you will too.”

Sue

“Lyndal’s classes are friendly and informative and are as relaxing or as challenging as I choose to make them. I love that I never feel forced to perform at a certain level and am encouraged to do what feels right for my body.

Lyndal strongly encourages us to listen to our bodies, which over the years, has increased my own awareness, allowing me to recognise and avoid harmful postures and positions in daily life, or to use the stretches and exercises from our classes to ease any aches and pains that do arise.

I thoroughly enjoy my weekly yoga classes.”

Amanda

“I have been practising Yoga for several years in the physical sense. However it wasn’t until I started with Lyndal that I have managed to stay in the mind as well as the body during Yoga classes. She is very calm and clearly spoken with her directions of how to conduct each pose. But for me the frequent and gentle reminder to come back within the body has made my yoga a full body & mind practice. Thanks so much Lyndal for making my yoga complete.”
