She is a Clinical Member of the College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN), Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), and the Australian Radix Body-oriented Psychotherapy Association (ARBPA). Louise is experienced in Psychology, mental health psychotherapy and counselling with specialist training in Somatic Psychotherapy both in Australia and America.
Louise is an authorized clinician for Work Cover NSW and has developed specialized return to work programmes. Louise has wide experience working in both the public and private sectors of health care, private practice and specialty units for the homeless and disadvantaged. Areas of expertise include Trauma, PTSD, Chemical Dependency, Depression and Anxiety, Relationships and Stress Management. An integrative, mind/body approach to therapy is her focus with training in a wide range of modalities. Louise works predominantly in the Hawkesbury Area with Individuals, Couples and Groups, and offers weekend Radix Workshops. Supervision offered for Individuals and Groups.
Louise is a Medicare registered practitioner with an empathetic and holistic approach to treatment. This approach includes assisting people to clarify what matters most through value-directed action and mindfulness mediation. She has a keen interest in working with people suffering from depression, anxiety, health anxiety, loss/grief, adjustment issues and the elderly. She also has experience working with couples and conflict resolution. Louise currently has an office in Windsor, NSW where she facilitates groups in Depression and Anxiety and trauma re regulation. She uses an eclectic approach to treatment using different therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness.
Louise completed a postgraduate diploma in Psychology to enhance her application and extension of psychodynamic and somatic theory and practice. Psychology and psychological therapy are entwined. Psychology allows us to question and test our beliefs to the point that we aim to find them wrong. This is known as the null hypothesis.Only then can we be certain that we have explored the depths of what there is to be known in the unknown.
Medicare rebates are included in psychological services. ATAPS referrals are also available for perinatal, children, LGBTQI and aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander referrals.Specialist referrals are accepted immediately for SOS - suicide prevention clients, who are given priority sessions within 24 - 48 hours.
