Welcome
In recent years there has been a growing interest in natural therapies, both in recognition of their tremendous value to individual health and as a result of a need to find safer and more efficient treatment alternatives to what mainstream medicine is offering.
I am dedicated in helping you achieve your maximum health potential through a number of natural treatment options. The natural approach is proven to improve the quality of your health. I am an experienced and qualified health practitioner and have extensive experience in providing strategies to help with conditions such as:
- Digestive disturbances
- High blood pressure
- Fatigue
- Female and male hormonal problems
- Natural fertility
- Children’s health
- Low Immune system
- Headaches/Migraines
- Depression/anxiety
- Behaviour Problems
- Weight loss/gain
- Body aches and pains
- Sporting Injuries
- All aspects of health.
I will aim to:
- 1. Stop or reduce acute symptoms
- 2. Support the body’s vital force (capacity to heal itself)
- 3. Re-balance the system so illness is less likely to occur in the future.
- 4. Educate clients to be able to look after their own health and the health of their families.
In order to carry this out effectively, you will be asked about your diet, lifestyle, family background and environment, as well as the history of your illness or complaint. This gathering of information is important as I will seek to discover the cause of the illness and treat you as a whole person rather than target the symptoms alone.
I take an holistic, energetic and scientific approach to natural health care. If required I will offer a number of tests which can help determine the underlining causes of your individual health condition including hair analysis, Stool analysis and Saliva Hormone testing.
Based on the outcome of these tests and the information gathered I will develop a suitable treatment plan for you which may include the following:
- Nutrition and dietary advice – this is one of naturopathy’s foundations. A poor diet stops the body from functioning well and a build-up of toxins can contribute to a range of illnesses. Whole, fresh and unprocessed foods are recommended. Rebalancing vitamins, minerals and amino acids maybe necessary.
- Herbal medicine – herbs are as potent as pharmaceutical drugs and can be used to great effect and can rebalance organs to improve overall health.
- Flower Essences – Flower essences work to rebalance your body through vibrational energy. It is very gentle yet very powerful treatment.
- Physical therapies – such as Bowen Therapy, Dorn Spinal Therapy, NIS and Multidimensional Quantum Healing are used to rebalance your physical and emotional body. Removing blocks and releasing tension and pain.

What is Natropathy?
(In person and online sessions available)
Naturopathy is a form of natural medicine that has been traditionally practiced throughout the world for centuries, and has recently made a resurgence in popularity and credibility. Naturopathy is both a science and a philosophy of healing which focuses on uncovering and treating the cause of disease rather than just covering up the presenting symptoms felt by the patient. Naturopaths believe that health is, or should be the most natural state of being. Naturopaths look at the human body as a whole, an interrelated system that when given the right conditions, can heal itself. We also place emphasis on preventative medicine and encourage healthy lifestyles through emotional, mental and spiritual well-being, to achieve overall wellbeing and vitality.
We understand that illness occurs on many levels and we work holistically using a variety of modalities like nutrition, flower essences, herbal medicine, equilibrations, body work, as well as life style changes to give you the vitality and wellbeing you desire.
In a typical consultation, I will take a full case history of your health and discuss your desired outcomes; this may take 45minutes to an hour. If necessary I may ask you to come back for follow up tests to determine the right treatment plan for you. In your first consult you may just go away with a few dietary changes to implement, this may also include some supplements or herbal remedies. Remember every case is individual and everyone gets their own specific lifestyle and dietary program. I may also suggest other forms of therapy to help assist in the rejuvenation of your health, for example, Bowen Therapy, massage, yoga or simple exercise.
Regular contact and follow up consults in the initial stages will ensure that you get the maximum results for your health. Once results are achieved you may only need to come back once every 6 months for a health review or when something has put you out of balance and you need support to get back on track.
There are two different types of Naturopathic Consults – Symptomatic and Corrective
Symptomatic is suitable for acute conditions such as a cold or flu where no further investigations are done into the cause of your condition. This initial consult will last approximately 45 minutes and you will receive treatment immediately, you may or may not require further consultations.
Corrective is when we need to look at the underlying causes of your condition and treat accordingly. Your initial consult is usually 60 minutes, in which I will take a detailed history of your case. Depending on the condition, you will receive a treatment plan which usually includes follow up visits. As the condition improves and changes, we need to change the treatment given so we can peel the onion and get to the cause of the problem and re-balance your body.
What is Bowen Therapy?
(In person sessions only)
Bowen Therapy is a non invasive therapy which facilitates healing of various body systems through creating change to the connective tissue and fascia of the body. Bowen Therapy involves a series of selectively placed transverse muscle-fibre movements to stimulate the soft tissue (fascia) found under the skin. The effect creates an electrical charge within the connective tissue and a window of opportunity for the fascia to become re-hydrated which in turn assists the structures housed within this tissue (your nerves, muscles, lymph, vascular structures and organs). This results in improved function in these structures, leading to improved health.
Bowen Therapy is safe to use on anyone from newborns to the elderly. It may benefit many conditions from sports injuries to chronic or organic complaints. Bowen Therapy helps to rebalance your body’s own healing ability and general health. It creates harmony and balance in the body by sending neurological impulses to the brain, resulting in muscle relaxation, pain reduction and a return to the normal movement in the joints, muscles and tendons.
Bowen Therapy may facilitate the balancing of a broad range of conditions. It can address any problem as the treatment is holistic. Bowen Therapy produces an integrated body response, and consequently improves circulation, lymphatic and venous draining, hormonal balancing, assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins, joint mobility, posture, clearance of dysfunctional debris, normalisation of cellular physiology and tissue integrity.
The number of treatments you will require will depend on the severity of the condition being treated and the general hydration of your body. For many conditions 3 treatments over a 2 – 3 week period will be sufficient. However, some cases need more treatments closer together and others need more ongoing treatments. For acute complaints you may only need 1 treatment to get profound results. The initial treatment will take 45 minutes to 1 hour and repeat treatments will take about 25 minutes. About 85% of clients notice an improvement after their very first treatment, often before they even get off the treatment table. Others may not notice much change initially, however often comment on an improvement within a few days or in other areas of the body not directly treated as the body is rebalancing. No matter what you initially feel, there are changes taking place inside the body after a Bowen treatment.
What is Multidimensioanl Quantum Healing
(In person and online sessions available)
Multidimensional Quantum Healing is a modality where we connect with your energy field and intuitvely clear what is no longer of benefit to your journey.
It can be administered with or without laying hands on the body, it is a safe, non-invasive treatment that restores balance to the systems of the body, and as a result symptoms and conditions of illness may be relived.
During a treatment, different people will feel different things, physically and emotionally. Many people say that a treatment can feel like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. However to receive the benefits you do not have to feel anything. MQH treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
The primary aim of MQH is to move energy blockages that may have occurred in the body and as a result have cause physical or emotional disease.
What is Herbal Medicine?
(In person and online sessions available)
Herbal medicine is the oldest and still the most widely used system of medicine in the world today. It is medicine made exclusively from plants to safely assist the body in healing various disease conditions.
There are many different “types” of herbal medicine that spring from different cultures around the world. At Living Balance I use Western Herbal Medicine which is based on European herbal traditions and Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine which is from India.
Herbal medicine is increasingly being validated by scientific investigation which seeks to understand the active chemistry of the plant. Many modern pharmaceutical drugs have been modelled on, or derived from chemicals found in plants. An example is the heart medication digoxin which is derived from the plant foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
Using plants as medicine provides significant advantages for treating many conditions. The therapeutic activity of a plant is due to its complex chemical nature with different parts of the plant providing certain therapeutic effects. Herbs act to nourish and support the body’s organs, restore and strengthen damaged tissue as well as detoxify and eliminate waste.
Conditions which are commonly treated with herbal medicine include skin disorders, hormonal problems, digestive imbalance, infections, as well as nervous system issues such as anxiety, stress and depression.
At Living Balance Wellness Centre you may receive a liquid herbal tincture which is designed specifically for you and prepared while you wait. If you would prefer not to take a liquid herbal you have the option of taking herbs in tablet form.
Although herbs are generally very safe to use, and side effects are rare, there are a few exceptions for use in certain disease conditions and they can have moderate interactions with some pharmaceutical drugs. Therefore it is important to have a consultation with a highly trained practitioner and only take herbal medicine that has been prescribed by them for you. If your circumstances change, such as being prescribed a new medication by your GP, it is important to check with your herbal practitioner whether it is still okay to continue with your herbal tincture.
Natural Fertility Management
(In person and online sessions available)
Combing all modualities is beneficial for all conditions and especially powerful in supporting couples to conceive, as well as promoting happier and healthier babies. I offer a Four Stages to Healthy Babies program to assist parents who are wanting a natural and healthy pregnancy, birth and baby.
Thinking about getting pregnant but not sure where to start or having problems conceiving, then this is the program for you.
Stage 1- Pre Conception Care
I will help you and your partner to prepare for getting pregnant. This is a 3 – 4 month program aimed at promoting detoxification and a healthy mind set to get your body in the best possible shape before you actively try and conceive.
What are the benefits of preconception care and detoxifying before conceiving?
Preconception care is not only for you and your child’s health, but also for future generations. Addressing preconception and pregnancy health is the ultimate in preventative medicine. What you do for a few months will have lifelong effects for you and your child.
Your preconception care should ideally begin at least 3 months prior to the conception attempts. This preparation time is very important as the eggs take 3 months to mature and sperm take about 2.5 months to generate. This means that the sperm that is being expelled now has been exposed to all the toxins the male has been exposed to over the past 2.5 months. Fertilization with sperm and/or eggs that have had toxic exposure increases the possibility of pregnancy loss and decreases the chances of a healthy baby. Think of it as being in training…are you going to win a triathlon if you don’t train? Of course not, so why should pregnancy be any different? Detoxing decreases harmful toxins in your system that can damage you and your future child’s DNA.
One in six couples have difficulty conceiving which can be due to a number of different factors. I will discuss these with you, and take a health history in order to achieve your best outcome and course of treatment. Factors that may affect fertility include:
- Stress
- Toxicity
- Radiation
- Immune system status
- Insulin levels
- Drugs, including caffeine, tobacco and alcohol
- Previous contraceptive history
- Genitourinary infections e.g. Chlamydia and Mycoplasma
- Reproductive conditions such as varicoele, endometriosis and polycystic ovarian disease
Getting to know your menstrual Cycle
During this phase of the program you will come to be more connected to your body and its natural rhythms. Charting your menstrual cycle and knowing when you are fertile makes conception much easier in the second phase of the program. By understanding your bodies rhythms we can address any underlying conditions such as endometriosis, Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome, Hormonal imbalances and more before you attempt to get pregnant.
Does my partner have to be involved?
Ideally yes. It takes two to make a baby. Sperm contributes 50% of the DNA towards your child so it makes sense that it is just as important for you to be healthy as it does your partner. Sperm is actually far more vulnerable to damage from chemicals and toxins. Sperm is also often much easier to improve and increase with natural medicine. It is for this reason that we encourage both of you to take active steps in preparing your body for conception.

Step Two – Conception
For most this is the most exciting part of the program, however for others this can also be the most distressing. In our experience if step one is done properly step two is easy and for the majority fun like it should be.
What if I don’t want to do step one of the program, can I start straight at step two?
In most cases the answer is no. Watching people go through the stress, month after month of not being able to become pregnant is heart breaking for everyone involved. We find that by completing step one the chance of getting pregnant and not miscarrying is hugely increased, not to mention the benefits that you pass on to your child not just during the pregnancy but also for the rest of their life.
What is involved in step two?
Healthy Life Style
Everything mentioned in step one regarding nutrition, diet and exercise is carried over in step two. This means no alcohol, caffeine, smoking or recreational drugs during this phase and any phase of our program for that matter.
Herbs and Nutrition
During this phase I may change your supplements and add or change herbal medicine depending upon your individual needs. You will also receive ongoing support to make sure ovulation and your menstrual cycle is regular. Appointments will be every 4 - 6 weeks to track the progress of your menstrual cycle and fertility.
How long does this phase go for?
This phase is all about conception and goes until you are pregnant. The time for this varies from couple to couple, but because you have completed the first phase the time it takes in getting pregnant versus not doing the program is usually greatly decreased.
Step 3 – Supporting the Pregnancy
In this stage my primary aim is to support you and your partner to carry your baby to full term, prepare you for birth and encourage, through good health and nutrition, a shorter easier labor, as well as to help you feel happy, confident and in control through every stage of your pregnancy.
What’s involved in step three?
Nutrition and Dietary support
We will meet monthly during the first trimester then at weeks 14, 26 and 37 during the second and third trimester. Each session is 30mins to 1 hour with the primary objective being to make sure you and your baby’s nutritional needs are being met and to treat any conditions of pregnancy as they arise.
Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is fantastic in supporting and maintaining a healthy pregnancy. Bowen Therapy helps to balance the body and your unborn baby and is also fantastic in the treatment of many pregnancy related issues such as breach babies, overdue babies, fatigue associated with pregnancy, stress, lower back pain, poor sleep, morning sickness and many other pregnancy related issues. Bowen Therapy will be included in all of our meetings and additional appointments can be arranged if needed.
To prepare for your birth I recommend pre-labour Bowen treatments at week 32, 34, 37, 38, 39 and 40 until your precious baby has arrived into the world.
Your nutritional requirements will differ at each stage and trimester so it is important to continue (or begin) to be monitored throughout pregnancy.
Regular naturopathic health care throughout pregnancy reduces or eliminates many of the common “ailments” of pregnancy such as
- morning sickness
- stretch marks
- heartburn
- fatigue
- constipation
- pre-eclampsia & high blood pressure
- haemorrhoids
- gestational diabetes
Herbal medicine has a long history of use in the last trimester of pregnancy. Specific nutrient supplementation and individualized herbal formulations will promote a more comfortable birth, post natal and breastfeeding experience.
These consultations are designed for couples who are planning pregnancy or having trouble conceiving. In these consultations you will learn how to optimise your health and fertile potential through lifestyle, supplements and fertility knowledge. This program is designed to shorten time-to-pregnancy.
It is important to remember that most couples having trouble conceiving are not biologically infertile, and therefore may conceive naturally with the right information and support. Couples diagnosed with unexplained infertility or a condition known to reduce fertility such as endometriosis and poly cystic ovaries would find this course very beneficial.
What is Laser Coaching
(In person, phone and online sessions available)
Laser Coaching is a one off or a defined short number of sessions designed to “hit the spot” on a specific area of challenge or interest. It provides a confidential space to work in a highly focussed way on specific in the moment problems.
Laser Coaching Sessions are usually 30-minutes in which you and I will work on a specific issue that is preventing you from reaching your goals.
It can happen to anyone: you get stuck, you get influenced by thoughts and beliefs, and you can’t get past them. You don’t make any progress and you get more frustrated. You might need help immediately, and you don’t want to spend months understanding what you need to do or creating new habits to move forward.
Laser Coaching Sessions are perfect to implement a quick alignment and find ways to unblock thinking patterns or habits that are sabotaging your daily life and your business.
This doesn’t mean that the coaching session will be less effective because it’s shorter than standard sessions (30 minutes instead of 60 minutes): we will actually go deeper into the problem while we maximize the time available.
