Traditional Chinese medicine philosophy is focused on the idea of homeostasis, the body’s ability to maintain balance. This concept follows our fundamental principle at Komyuniti. Treating the body as a whole by focusing on the root cause, rather then just the symptoms of disease.

How Acupuncture works?

Through the practice of acupuncture, our practitioner’s insert fine needles into the skin at reactive nerve centres on the body. When the needle makes contact with the nerves, it stimulate’s the nervous system, singling the midbrain to release endorphins, enkephalins and promotes blood flow to specific areas throughout your body. When certain acupuncture points are stimulated, it transforms your experience of pain by optimising your body’s internal healing capabilities.

Evidence-based medicine

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is the most comprehensively researched therapies. There’s a large body of evidence that has established the following mechanisms of action:

  • Improves blood flow

  • Regenerates the body’s healing mechanisms

  • Activates natural painkillers within the body

  • Decreases the intensity and perception of pain

  • Decrease inflammation

  • Relaxes the muscles

  • Reduces stress hormones

In addition, Chinese Medicine is endorsed by the World Health Organisation, as an effective option of healthcare.
