Dr Sarah Mellish Clinical Psychologist
Sarah is a compassionate and kind clinical psychologist who is committed to evidence-based, high quality psychological care. She works with adults and older teenagers (aged 15+) experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, mood-related concerns, grief and loss, trauma-related presentations, sleep problems, and relationship concerns. Sarah also works with couples.
Sarah has worked in government, employee assistance programs and private settings. She enjoys continuing to broaden her skill set and is trained in a variety of therapeutic systems, drawing primarily upon the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Alongside her clinical work, Sarah is involved in university teaching and research. Most recently, her research has explored the psychological outcomes of bushfire events and the role of social media in harnessing public awareness about endometriosis.

She aims to build strong and genuine therapeutic relationships with her clients, which she sees as central to helping clients navigate life’s challenges. Sarah is skilled in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Metacognitive Therapy, Schema approaches, and Couple’s Therapy (Gottman and EFC). Sarah is deeply committed to helping her clients lead values-driven lives that resonate with their sense of meaning. Her research on posttraumatic growth reflects her belief in the resilience of individuals as they navigate and overcome adversity. She is dedicated to empowering her clients to develop effective coping strategies and recover more fully from life’s unexpected challenges.
