Myofascial, Systemic & Integrated Dry Needling
Fine accupuncture needles are inserted into specific points throughout the musculoskeletal system. Dry Needling assists with the realease of trigger points, (painful knots in the muscle that may be localised or sending referal pain to other parts of the body), releasing the Fascia of the body (fascia is the "glue" that holds everything together) and pain relief.
Dry Needling is extremely beneficial to assist with:
- Pain
- Injury
- Rehabilitation
- Trauma
In clinic excellent results have been obtained with shoulder pain, back pain including sciatic pain and leg pain especially "shin" pain. See photo's for an example of Dry Needling on the shoulder, electrodes are connected to send an electric impulse to the muscles, this is called electrotherapy.
Myofascial Release Therapy
Specific techniques used to work on the Fascia and Muscles of the body to create a very positive and quite often profound change. Especially useful with postural tightness and injuries.
Remedial Massage
Treatment designed to treat and manage injuries, aches and pains and postural misalignments caused by muscles, as well as overuse syndrome.
Remedial Massage assists with pain management and allows the bodies healing mechanisms to become more effective. Therefore healing generally occurs more quickly and down time from injuries is reduced.
Sports Massage
Specifically designed to assit the athlete (elite, professional athlete or weekend enthusiast). Pre-event warming of the muscles.
Post-event recovery, assists the muscle and therefore the body to recover rapidly, eases the aches, pains and if necessary assists with "milking" out the lactic acid that may form. Research has shown that athletes that have regular massage are less likely to obtain injury relating to muscle fatigue, then those that do not have regular treatment.
Pregnancy Massage
Massage after the first tri-mester assists the mother to be with aches, pains and the postural changes that are occuring through out the course of the pregnancy.
Massage is safe after the first tri-mester in healthy pregnancy (if in doubt please consult your treating physician prior to obtaining pregnancy massage).
