About Us
A little background info...
I have a beautiful wife, Puccetta, a daughter and another baby due in August. We live in Crows Nest and each grew up in Neutral Bay and Mosman.
We have both worked within the Fitness industry for more than a decade between us. Puccetta has worked running the creche at St Leonards Fitness First, in distance education for the Australian Insititute of Fitness and in running the largest Fitness Convention in Australia for Australian Fitness Network. She also holds current qualifications as a personal trainer.
I started out working from the St Leonards Fitness First club covering shifts in the creche when Puccetta was short on help. I was working full-time elsewhere at the time but this opened up the door to me working in the back office for FF. I was taken on board, firstly as an assitant Customer Care Manager and the as the sole club Administrator. I held this position for a number of years and was then offered a regional position in charge of 12 clubs. I declined this move and opted to transfer to Head Office in Bondi instead while i completed my PT qualifications. I then started my own Personal Training franchise back at the St Leonards club where I remained until mid 2010. The level of professional development and training on offer within this sytem has been invaluable in building my skills as a trainer and the experience of running my own business has been far more rewarding than i could ever imagined.
I have always maintained a balance of indoor and outdoor training. Initially this was for my own sanity but I found that the best results i was getting with clients was in the outdoor sessions. Initially i resisted this observation as unrelated but found similar results repeating themselves as time wore on. I concluded that it was the combination of training regularity, having more accountability (from training partners as well as from me) and consistant efforts that the group environment bring that were ensuring clients were achieving their results more often. As an added bonus, outdoor group clients were less likely to have to forego their training sessions for financial reasons and this only added to their gains.
This is the main reason I have moved away from the traditonal studio/Gym training environment and focused more on training outdoors. I always felt guilty about going into fluro lighting and air-conditioning with piped music and the smell of synthetic matting when a beautiful Sydney day was only a few metres away!
What sort of training do we do?
A varied, enjoyable and challenging combination of Cardio and Resistance training in the great outdoors. We use resistance bands, weights, body weight and fit balls to strengthen and sculpt the major muscle groups. A combination of resistance training and cardio is an essential aspect of any training program and a sure road to a fit and healthy lifestyle.
