What Is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion (or moxa for short) is another traditional Chinese medicine practice, that involves the application of heat to the bodys acupuncture points in order to provide overall healing. This heat is a direct result of the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb or moxa. This form of therapy is often used in conjunction with acupuncture, acupressure, cupping and Chinese herbal medicine and is suitable enough to be used by people of all ages.

Why Should You Give Moxa a Try?

The purpose of moxa, as with most forms of traditional Chinese medicine, is to stimulate acupoints in order for the body to promote healing. The radiant heat that is produced by burning moxa penetrates deep into the body, restoring the balance and flow of qi and helping to maintain an individuals general health.
