    What is Therapeutic Hypnosis and Meditational Therapy?

    • The general perception is that therapeutic Hypnosis also known as Clinical Hypnosis, is used to overcome habitual issues while Meditation is for the purpose of learning to relax and becoming more in tune with oneself;

    • Both therapies in fact explore ways of helping you to access the deeper part within you; and
      Can be used to help relieve a broad range of ailments or simply used for personal development.

    • Therapeutic Hypnosis and Meditational Therapy is beneficial to people across all age groups and has proven results with an increasing number of people now seeking these methods of treatment.

    What is a trance state?

    • In a therapeutic setting, a trance is what happens when you experience hypnosis, meditation or deep relaxation;

    • Each one of us experiences trance in our everyday life; and

    • Your trance state enables you to delve deep within yourself to deal with things that may be confronting you without the conscious mind interfering.
    Think about a daydream for a moment….
    Perhaps it was when you were walking,
    watching TV or even driving.

    So engrossed you became with this daydream state that you totally lost track of time before finally coming back to what you were doing. If you have experienced this day dreaming state then you have experienced trance.

    How do I come out of a trance state?

    • Unlike what you may have read or seen, you can always come out of a trance state; and

    • The trance you experience is actually a deeper part of you, regardless of the type of therapy being used.
    If you are in a trance state and your therapist had to leave the room for some reason, you would come out of the trance state naturally, just as you would if you were daydreaming.

    Do I remain in control?

    Some people fear that if you allow yourself to be hypnotized, you have no choice but to obey the therapists’ commands.

    • If one were to try to compel you to do or say anything unethical it would cause enough conflict in your mind for you to come out of trance by yourself; and

    • In a trance state, be it via hypnosis or meditation, you are going deeper within yourself so it is a part of you which only you have control of.
    NO therapist can compel you to do
    anything that is in violation of your moral or ethical values. A therapist is there to help guide you through your experience.

    I don't think I can go into trance or meditate - to benefit from this therapy?

    • NO. With this kind of therapy, we guide you by calming your mind and emotions to obtain maximum benefit from the therapy; and

    • We will also teach you some basic techniques that will enable you to have a more stress-free life.

    What do I have to do?

    • Just one thing – a genuine commitment to change. You do not have to know how you will achieve this change, but change will happen with your commitment.

    How many treatments do I need?

    • It varies from client to client. Some clients need 2 or 3 sessions whilst others need more. It does depend on the nature of your presenting issue.
    The benefits of Therapeutic hypnosis and Meditational therapy are proven however it is relative to your participation and your commitment for the true benefits to be realised.
