Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health and wellness. It recognises that our body has an innate ability to rebalance itself given the right conditions. The naturopathic approach involves establishing and removing the disturbing factors that contribute to imbalance and poor health and supporting the body through dietary & lifestyle recommendations, necessary nutrients and individualised herbal medicine preparations. The use of herbal medicine is unique to Naturopathy and is the oldest form of medicine. Herbs can be used therapeutically in the form of teas, tinctures, tablets or creams and are often part of a health plan.
Nutritional Medicine
Nutritional medicine looks at food, its nutrients and how diet affects our health and well-being. Nutrients are the building blocks of our physical body. When the body is supplied with the correct balance of food groups and nutrients it will maintain its optimal function. Specific therapeutic diets and nutritional supplements including vitamins, minerals, individual amino acids, fatty acids, and plant-based antioxidants are recommended to help support health, prevent disease and assist in the treatment of a broad range of health conditions.
Meal Plans
Following a certain therapeutic diet can often be part of an initial health plan. Meal planning helps to ensure you’re eating a variety of different foods while following your specific dietary recommendations. INTO health meal plans provide a beautiful, easy to follow weekly guide with included shopping list and recipes. A variety of complete meal plans are available for low FODMAP diet, low Histamine diet, Mediterranean diet, SIBO Bi-phasic diet, however, they can also be individualised to suit your specific needs, likes and dislikes. Recipe ebooks are another option, which offers more flexibility while still staying within specific dietary guidelines (eg. gluten or dairy-free recipes).
Iridology
Iridology is one of the assessment tools used in the clinic to gather information about your health and wellbeing. It is a non-invasive method of analysing the iris, the coloured part of your eye. An analysis of your iris enables an insight into certain aspects of your health and can help reveal potential disharmonies in the body which can help direct further investigations and your treatment. The structural patterns & colours in the iris can provide indications of your inherent constitution (strengths & weaknesses), level of vitality, assimilation of nutrients, areas of inflammation, congestion and toxicity accumulation.
Functional Testing
To eliminate guesswork from consultations, in addition to taking a comprehensive health history, I also utilise various in-clinic screening and functional pathology testing. The test results can give us a good insight into your current state of health and provide baseline markers to enable us to monitor your progress throughout the treatment. Available in-house testing includes body composition analysis, zinc assessment and blood pressure monitoring. A complete review of blood tests is often a good start for further investigations however, where needed additional functional lab testing may be recommended to dig deeper into the underlying cause of your health concerns. These may include gut microbiome & stool analysis, food sensitivity testing, salivary hormonal profiles, hair tissue mineral analysis and more.
