Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy aims to empower and support individuals to manage their own health using the principles of yoga and applying a range of yoga practices. It is a one-on-one wholistic therapy which focuses on the needs of the individual rather than the condition.

A Yoga Therapist is a specialised yoga teacher with additional skills and knowledge in the application of yoga within a therapeutic setting.

Yoga Classes
Yoga classes are done in a group setting. Although a general level yoga class cannot usually offer specific individualised practices, it can offer many modifications and variations for less acute conditions and is a wonderful way of building physical and psychological strength and flexibility and reducing stress and tension.

  • Post Graduate Studies (Gentle Yoga, Pre Natal Yoga, Progressive Yoga Relaxation, Yoga for Children), Gita International Yoga Pty Ltd.
  • Donna Farhi Teacher Training

My training has included:
  • the practice and teaching of yoga practices - asana (physical movement), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation and relaxation
  • principles of human developmental movement patterns based on Body-Mind Centering
  • yoga principles, philosophy and physiology
  • anatomy and physiology
  • client assessment principles and methodologies
  • yoga therapy health assessments
  • development, application and review of yoga therapy programs and treatments
  • therapeutic relationships and group skills
  • professional practice skills

I am a member of the following organisations which are valuable networks for inspiration, ethical guidance, support and continuing professional development:
  • YA (Yoga Australia)
  • AAYT (Australian Association of Yoga Therapists)
  • IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists)

I am also the current President of the Australian Association of Yoga Therapists (AAYT)

I believe that I forfeit the right to teach if I cease to learn. I therefore continue to learn and uphold a regular personal yoga practice and lifestyle.
