Odour is one of the strongest stimuli over a wide area of the cerebral cortex. Inhaling lavender and peppermint or used on a gauze swab help elderly people concentrate before they get up. Rosemary, peppermint, rose, lemon, and lavender are also useful.

Better eye contact:

Walk with patients who have Alzheimers or other dementia conditions providing a hand massage with a mixture of Lavender, Mandarin, Bergamot and Petitgrain.

Skin Ulcers and Slow Healing Wounds:

Evening Primrose oil can aid elasticity of aging skin. German Chamomile (10% solution) in Grapeseed oil can be applied twice a day with remarkable results in wound healing.

The M Technique:

The M Technique is a gentle method of touch which has been used in the USA since the early 1990s. The technique reduces ailments such as stress, chronic, pain, insomnia and agitation. The M Technique is also recognized as part of holistic nursing care in many hospitals. Infinity Health Solutions uses the M Technique in hand and foot massage combining Aromatherapy essential oils.

Aromatherapy and Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is the application of pure essential oils through massage with base oils or handcreams, vaporisers, floral sprays or bathing – to enjoy the great healing properties of the oils.

Dr. Elizabeth Kaziro is an Aromatherapist with expertise in different massage modalities, fitness for the elderly and counselling. She offers a wholistic approach to prevention, maintenance and healing using 100% essential oils.

Many oils provide stamina, endurance and a calming and uplifting effect. Others are helpful for joint problems, appetite loss, insomnia and stress. Essential oils also assist in spiritual transformation as well as enhancing physical health.
