........................................................

Remedial massage is used to treat a specific area, such as joint or muscular restriction, back and neck pain, or headaches. The area is assessed & treated to your specific needs, using a variety of techniques including sports massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy. Stretches and exercises are often given to help increase recovery and aid in the management of the problem.

........................................................

Trigger point therapy involves the identification and treatment of trigger points, that is, hyperirritable points within a taut band of muscle. These points are one of the main causes of muscle pain, either locally or distant to the actual muscle affected. Treatment involves applying pressure, or using myofascial cupping or dry needling, to remove the trigger point from the muscle. Treatments usually include stretches which assist to prevent the trigger point from returning post-treatment.

........................................................

Myofascial cupping is a technique in which a cup is placed on the skin, and through decreasing the pressure inside the cup, skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn towards and held in the cup. The benefit of this technique is that it will draw blood from deeper tissue towards the skin and muscle and bring quick and effective relief from pain and improve mobility. Myofascial cupping is generally combined with other forms of remedial massage during the treatment.

........................................................

Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers, rather than acupuncture needles, to apply pressure to key healing points that stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. Amazing results have been achieved particularly in the treatment of clients with chronic sinus issues and headaches.

........................................................

Anma, Tui Na and Shiatsu are ancient massage therapies which concentrate on applying pressure to acupressure points through more vigorous massage techniques, that is, through the utilisation of palms, elbows, forearms, and stretches. Treatments can be done through clothing on a futon on the floor.

........................................................

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of pure essential oils distilled from a wide variety of plants. Combined with massage, it increases blood and lymph flow, moves waste products from the tissues, increases relaxation and releases tension, while the aromas released help balance your state of mind.

........................................................

Myofascial release is an effective technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. It can have a profound effect on the entire body as fascia covers and connects every muscle, bone, tendon, vein, artery and organ of the body.

........................................................

Bowen Therapy is a safe, gentle effective soft tissue therapy that can be applied to address a wide variety of ailments including muscular, structural and visceral complaints. There is no oil or forceful manipulation used and it is applied by using gentle stretch, roll and release moves over specific muscle, tendons and ligaments initiating the body to reset and begin to heal itself. It is suitable for all ages and helps treat a variety of musculoskeletal ailments.
